Manufactured by the J.A. Cissel Mfg. Co. Proud American workers with 40+ years experience making poultry netting

Friends, I used fish dip nets for catching chickens for years, and usually the bird would get tangled up in the net. I have even had to cut the net to free the bird. This net is designed specifically for catching birds. I have tried a variety of bird catch nets. Most of them did not work very well. The netting was too stiff, or the opening was too large so I couldn't turn the handle sideways to trap the bird, etc. Then I bought a Replacement Bird Catch Net from J.A. Cissel. and put it on my existing frame. This worked so much better than all the other catch nets I had tried. But, the Standard fish catch net frames are fairly short, cheap & not very well made. They tend to get loose or break where the frame attaches to the handle. The overall length of this frame is about 16" longer than a standard frame. I have found the extra length makes a big difference in catching birds. This is the only catch net I use anymore. It is the Cadillac of catch nets, sturdy, well designed, with excellent quality soft netting.

Weight: The frame & net weigh 2 lb. 6 oz. My old fish dip net frame that I was using weighs approximately 13 oz. so the new frame is about 2.5 times heavier & considerably stronger.

Tip: With the bird running along a fence, etc. Very Quickly push the net in front of them & they will run right in.

Directions: After catching the bird, give the handle a 90 Deg. turn to trap the bird, then reach your hand in and retrieve the bird without having to untangle it from the netting, or just move the bird to a different pen turn the handle back 90 Deg. let the net down to the ground and the bird will walk free. Useful for:
Catching birds, chicken, pheasant, & quail
Also good for catching minnows and crawdads out of a creek.
Catching small fish & critters in the ocean

Compare Quality: Most bird catch nets I see sold either the netting is very stiff which is not good for catching birds. Or maybe the netting is very thin & weak. The opening is too large on some of them which makes it hard to trap the bird. Or maybe the net isn't deep enough. Most of the frames are wooden or very thin Aluminum which tends to bend or get loose. The catch net you see advertised here is the best I have tried.
